City of San Francisco honors Miss Tilly

Miss Tilly was presented a Certificate of Honor from the Board of Supervisors for her 40 years of excellence in teaching dance to young children. Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier personally awarded the certificate during  a Board of Supervisors' meeting to Miss Tilly who was surrounded by some of her charming young dancers in tutus.

Known as Miss Tilly to the thousands of children who've studied with her, Abbe never had to bother with outreach. Everything was word of mouth: Mothers told mothers, little girls told little girls, schoolteachers spread the word, and without the benefit of publicity she built a reputation as the city's pre-eminent ballet instructor for small children.
